Ninos Aho is an Assyrian poet and activist. He was born in a small village in Syria named Gerke-shamo, though his family is originally from Tur Abdin in Turkey. He later moved to Qamishli and then to Damascus in order to attend college. After leaving Syria, he later lived in Chicago, Massachusetts, and Aleppo, and currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
