Nikoghayos Mikaelian

Nikoghayos Poghos Mikaelian (1881-1915), also known as "Ishkhan" was an active leader of the Armenian self-defensive movement. He has defended the interests of the Armenians of Van, has given an impetus to education. He was killed during the Siege of Van.^[1]

Legacy

The community Ishkhanasar was named in his honor.
