Niels Silfverberg is a composer and arranger of music for Brass Bands, and his music is published by publishers in England and Scandinavia. His music has been recorded by bands from many parts of the world including the International Staff Band of the Salvation Army and the Band of the Coldstream Guards.

He plays Soprano Cornet in the Salvation Army, Valby, Copenhagen, and has travelled with bands in Scandinavia, the Baltic countries, Germany, England, Russia and the United States, and on several occasions performing as soloist. He was a member of the Salvation Army Copenhagen Youth Band that took part in the 1978 International Congress.

He has been guest instructor for several brass bands, and been instructor at many music camps. He is the son of Erik Silfverberg, a welknown name in the Salvation Army band world.

Niels Silfverberg holds a Master in Educational Development from the University of Aarhus, and works with educational design, educational development, ICT in education and as a lecturer. He has been employed at Research and Development at the Metropolitan University College in Copenhagen, and has been teaching at the University of Copenhagen, The Danish Center for development of Vocational Education and Training, The Danish School of Social Work and SUHR's College. He has frequently given lectures at conferences regarding Educational Design and on how the use of ICT in education impacts on learning.
