Nicolai Laudrup (born October 4, 1988 in Albertslund) is a Danish professional footballer, who currently plays for the Danish 1st Division side Lyngby BK.

Career

Laudrup focused on playing golf in his youth, before moving to the United States to play football (soccer) alongside his studies at North Carolina Wesleyan College.[3] He started his senior career when he returned to Denmark, and signed a semi-professional contract with Danish 2nd Division team Ølstykke FC in January 2009.[4] When his contract expired after six months, Nicolai moved back to his childhood club FC Øresund in August 2009, playing as an amateur in the Zealand Series.[5] In early 2010, he moved to Danish 1st Division club Lyngby Boldklub.[6] On 20 June 2010 signed with Fremad Amager.[7]

Golf career

Laudrup has spent months fine-tuning his game with Glasgow coach Adam Hunter, who helped Paul Lawrie to his Open Championship win at Carnoustie in 1999.[8]

Private life

He is the son of the former Danish international forward, Brian Laudrup, and Mette Laudrup[9], nephew to the former FC Barcelona and Real Madrid player Michael Laudrup, grandson to Danish international Finn Laudrup and his cousins are professional footballers Mads and Andreas Laudrup.[10]
