Career
Nicky Morgan started at his boyhood club West Ham United as an apprentice before earning a professional contract in 1978. He failed to make an impression at Upton Park and joined Portsmouth in 1982 after being on loan at FC Den Haag in Holland in 1981/1982 where he scored 6 goals. He did much better at Pompey scoring 32 goals in 95 games and became known by the fans as 'Super Nicky Sub'. This propted Stoke City to make a move for Morgan and he signed for the Potters in 1986, He spent four years at the Victoria Ground and produced some excellent displays as he scored a goal every four games before leaving for Bristol City in 1990. He went on to play for Bournemouth and Exeter City.[1]
