Nick Helm is a British comedian known for his confrontational delivery.[1] His routines have been described as "brash and bullish".[2]
He came to prominence following the success of his 2010 Edinburgh Fringe show "Keep Hold of the Gold".
Nick grew up in St. Albans and started writing and performing whilst still at school. With friends, he began taking shows to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in the early 2000s, with increasing levels of success, by 2007 he began performing solo Stand Up as well, but maintained his theatrical work, with 2008 Fringe show, "I Think You Stink" gaining critical acclaim. Comedian Richard Herring called it "A lovely little hidden gem… Funny, silly and slightly chilling… Something very new and special.".
He has worked closely with his friends on the standup circuit, performing mixed bill standup shows at the fringe with the likes of James Acaster. Josh Widdicombe, Catie Wilkins, and Grainne Maguire before his first fully solo show, "Keep Hold Of The Gold" in 2010.
He won the award for the funniest joke of the 2011 Edinburgh Fringe for his joke “I needed a password eight characters long so I picked Snow White and the Seven Dwarves”. [3]
