He won 2009 Lasker Clinical Award for the development of Gleevec, a selective BCR-ABL inhibitor for the treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML).[1]
Lydon earned a BS in biochemistry from the University of Leeds, England and received his Ph.D in biochemistry from the University of Dundee, Scotland.
