Nicolas Kent (born 1945) is a British theatre director.
Life
Attending Stowe School and studying English at St Catharine's College, Cambridge, he directed his first play - Look Back in Anger by John Osbourne - whilst still at university before becoming a trainee director at the Liverpool Playhouse in 1967. He worked at the Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh and the Oxford Playhouse between 1970 and 1972, during which time he toured Playboy of the West Indies to the Tricycle Theatre, starting an association with the latter that lasted until 2011, when he resigned as its director due to coalition cuts to arts funding.[1]
