Neferetnebty in hieroglyphs
Neferet-ha-NebtyNeferetnebty (also Neferet-ha-Nebti, Neferetnebti) was a Queen of Egypt as a wife of Pharaoh Sahure[2]. She lived during the 5th dynasty and was named after Two Ladies, a pair of Egyptian goddesses who protected the pharaoh.
Biography
Neferetnebty's parents are not known. She is depicted with her husband in his mortuary temple at Abusir.[3] In the mortuary temple several sons are mentioned. Their names are Horemsaf, Netjerirenre, Khakare and Nebankhre. It is not clear if these princes are the sons of Neferethanebty or possibly of another wife.[2] Neferethanebty's titles include those of great of praises (wrt-hzwt), she who sees Horus and Seth (m33t-hrw-stsh), king’s wife, his beloved (hmt-nisw meryt.f), and companion of Horus (tist-hrw).[1]
Sahure and Neferetnebty's children may have been Princes Ranefer and Netjerirenre. According to Miroslav Verner, Ranefer took the throne as Neferirkare Kakai, and Netjerirenre may have later take the throne as Shepseskare.[citation needed]
