Concerned citizen's on patrol in Oslo, a late Friday afternoon

Natteravnene (English: the Nightjars) is a Norwegian organisation of volunteers, established in 1990, that encourages adult, sober citizens to wander the around in the city in groups at night in the weekends. The volunteers task is to be visible and available for the public as it is believed that this will dampen violence and anti-social behavior. The volunteers will also assist people that can not take care of themselves, like drunk youngsters. In such cases, the volunteers take contact with various official help organisations.
