The National Locksmith Certification Program is a certification program for locksmiths administered by The National Locksmith.[1]

Structure
The program currently offers four designations for locksmiths. They are, in order of progression:
- Certified Locksmith (CL)
- Certified Locksmith Advanced (CLA)
- Certified Locksmith Master (CLM)
- Certified Locksmith Master II (CLM II)
Testing Criteria
Each level of certification requires the locksmith to select any 5 tests and achieve a passing score of at least 80% on each test. Tests are online, not timed, and allow the locksmith to utilize any reference material available. The number of tests required for each designation are as follows:

- Large Format Interchangeable Core (Intermediate)
- Large Format Interchangeable Core (Advanced)
- Small Format Interchangeable Core (Basic)
- Small Format Interchangeable Core (Intermediate)
- Small Format Interchangeable Core (Advanced)
- Master Keying (Basic)
- Master Keying (Intermediate)
- Lock Bypass Techniques (Basic)
- Lock Bypass Techniques (Advanced)
- Basic Analog and Digital Electronics
- Safe Deposit Box Lock Servicing
The National Locksmith Certification Program intends to add more tests in the future, including tests on the subject of aluminum stile doors and safe servicing.
