26 October 2011Nathan Haas is an Australian road cyclist who currently rides for the local Genesys Wealth Advisers Pro Cycling Team. In 2012 Haas will ride in the UCI WorldTour for Garmin-Cervélo.
Haas began cycling as a mountain biker, representing Australia in two World Championships. He switched to road racing in 2009.
In 2011, after he and teammate Steele von Hoff dominated the domestic National Road Series, Haas won the 2011 Herald Sun Tour, a race which featured a number of UCI Pro Teams. After gaining an advantageous position in a six-man breakaway in stage 1, Haas finished second on the key fourth stag, beating GC rival and current Australian road racing champion Jack Bobridge into second on the stage and sealing the win overall win.
Haas followed up with a win in the Japan Cup, a race which also featured a number of Pro Teams whose previous winners include Gilberto Simoni, Damiano Cunego and Claudio Chiapucci.
