Nassau Public Library and Museum is the largest library in the Bahamas, situated in Nassau. It is one of five libraries in Nassau. The building it is located in is an old colonial jail, dating back to the 1797, when it became the first building on Parliament Square, Nassau. It was converted into a library in 1873.[1] The small prison cells which once housed prisoners now contains old colonial documents, newspapers, books, charts, Arawak artifacts, historic prints etc.
