Naselje (pl. naselja) is a settlement in Croatia, usually translated as settlement.[1] It is the smallest unit of Croatian territory. Individual settlements are by and large referred to as selo (village), while naselje is a statistical and administrative category. The units of local government in Croatia, cities (Croatian: grad, gradovi) and municipalities (Croatian: općina, općine), are composed of one or more naselje. There are currently 6,749 naselja in Croatia.[2]
