Najeeb Jung a former Indian Administrative Service officer is the current Vice Chancellor of the Jamia Millia Islamia, a central university in Delhi.[1] An expert on energy, Jung studied at St. Stephen's college, Delhi and the London School of Economics, London, before joining the IAS in 1973 batch.
He quit the service after his stint as joint secretary (exploration) in the petroleum ministry. He is currently pursuing his PhD on energy economics from Oxford University. On September-30-2010 he endorsed the judgement of Allahabad High Court on Babri Masjid Ram Janambhoomi suit.
Theater
Mr. Najib Jung reprised role of Akbar the great in the play 'Anarkali-Akbar-Salim' enacted at the Ansari Auditorium.The play attempts to understand why and how Salim the lover forgets his Anarkali; then becomes a demanding husband; and finally Akbar the patriarch.
