Nafudakake (名札掛け Hiragana: なふだかけ) is a group of nametags in dojo of Japanese martial arts and other arts in Japan (such as Japanese tea ceremony)[1] showing the members of the dojo, and sometimes their ranks. Usually, each name is written on a separate wooden plaque and hung from a small metal hook,[2] or held in place by wooden girders.[3] In dojo where rank is indicated, a person's nametag is moved upon attaining a higher rank. Nafudakake are also used at Shinto shrines,[4] to display names of benefactors.
