RCMP vessel Nadon

RCMP vessel Nadon

The RCMP vessel Nadon is a patrol vessel operated by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

She normally patrols the Georgia Strait off Vancouver, British Columbia and Victoria, British Columbia. In 1999, she was staffed by volunteers who recreated the historic 1940-42 transit of the Northwest Passage of the RCMP St. Roch.

The Nadon is an aluminium catamaran. For her transit of the Northwest Passage she was renamed St. Roch II, and was escorted by the CCGS Simon Fraser.

The original St. Roch's voyage was so impeded by ice that it took 28 months, but the Nadon completed her transit in a single season.
