The script was written by Ciril Kosmač, based on his novel. It was entered into the 1949 Cannes Film Festival.[1]
Contents
Plot
The film depicts a mid-World War II Slovene village in the Slovenian Littoral, which is occupied by the Italians. After their capitulation, the German army takes over the village. The movie tells about both the partisan resistance forces and the villagers, who offer full support to the partisans.
Filming
The film was shot on location in the villages of Grahovo ob Bači and Koritnica.[2]
