Nyarugusu

Nyarugusu

Nyarugusu is one of the best-known and largest refugee camps since the end of the 20th century. It is located in the western province of Kigoma in Tanzania, Africa.[1]

It was created in 1996/1997 by the UNHCR and the Tanzanian government, after a multitude of Congolese refugees from the eastern region of Democratic Republic of Congo, Sud-Kivu (Kivu), moved to the western coast of Tanzania, trying to get away from a civil war.
