North Eastern Area air defence command was one of the five Australian area defence commands during World War II. The command was headquartered at Townsville, Queensland and was commanded from the Commonwealth Building (Federation Place) on Sturt Street, Townsville.
Ian McLachlan took command of RAAF North-Eastern Area in September 1951.[1]
