Måsske/Musken lies halfway along the long and small Hellmofjorden, part of Tysfjorden. The village is not far from Hellemobotn, in Finnmark, where Norway is at its narrowest. From Hellemobotn, it is just six kilometres from Sweden.
Northern Europe's deepest cave, Raggejavreraige, is not far from Musken. The cave is 597m deep.
Next to Drag school, also in Tysfjord, is Musken school the only school in the world with lessons in the Lule Sami language.
Måsske/Musken today has 40 inhabitants, and only 6 students in the local school.
Måsske/Musken today has one of Norway's only manual mail sorting centres.
