Murakami Takeyoshi

Murakami Takeyoshi (村上武吉; 1533-1604) was a naval commander of the Murakami and the Mori clan during the Sengoku Jidai. When the Murakami were eventually conquered by the Mori, he joined them. His first fight was at the Battle of Miyajima, where Mori Motonari defeated Sue Harukata in Aki province. He became commander of the Mori navy and defeated Oda clan admiral Kuki Yoshitaka at the First Battle of Kizugawaguchi. In the second battle, he was defeated by Yoshitaka's atakebune ships specially constructed. Takayoshi became a subordinate to Mori Takakage after suffering the defeat.
