The family of Hote–Buang languages of the Huon Gulf area, Papua New Guinea, is a subgroup of the South Huon Gulf languages. It consists of 12 languages.

Components

  • Hote: Hote, Yamap
  • Buang: Mapos Buang, Mangga Buang, Piu, Kapin, Vehes, Mumeng (Dambi–Kumalu, Gorakor–Patep–Zenag)

The varieties of the Mumeng dialect chain are partially mutually intelligible.
