Svema ( _uk. Свема) is a registered
trade mark and former name ("NPO "Svema") of the Shostka Chemical Plant, located inShostka ,Sumy Oblast ,Ukraine . It was founded in 1931 in thenUkrainian SSR ."Svema" used to be the major photographic film manufacturer in
USSR , but their film in the independent Ukraine lost competition to imported product during the late 1990s. They still makeblack-and-white photographic film ,photographic paper and B&W/colour cine film, which has a steady demand among enthusiasts as an easy and sturdy product for beginners in home film development and printing, although this become a side business for the company.Their black and white photographic films are:
