Muhammad Yaqub Nanautawi

Muhammad Yaqub Nanautawi (alternately, Nanotvi) was one of the founders of the Deobandi movement, along with his cousin, Muhammad Qasim Nanotvi. Muhammad Yaqub had gained familiarity with higher education at Delhi College, where his father Mamlook Ali was head of the Arabic department, and had also served as Deputy Educational Inspector in the government of British India.[1]
