Mount Tempyo

Mount Tempyo (69°31′S 39°43′E / 69.517°S 39.717°E / -69.517; 39.717) is a rocky hill (260 m) that rises from the southern extremity of Skarvsnes Foreland on the coast of Queen Maud Land. Mapped from surveys and air photos by Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition (JARE), 1957-62. The name "Tempyo-zan" (Tenpyo Zan), apparently descriptive of the feature, was given by JARE Headquarters in 1973.
