Mt. Olive Church of God is known as Mt. Olive Ministries, and is associated with the Church of God in Cleveland, TN. The church's mission is "to reach a city, a county, a country and literally around the world". Mt. Olive is also known as "A Church to Come Home To." It has been recognized by Gary Sears as "one of the fastest growing churches in the denomination."[1]

Senior Pastor and Pastoral Staff

The Senior Pastor of Mt. Olive is Pastor Gary W. Sears, who has served the church since 1990. He has also served on the denomination's Council of Eighteen as well as several other positions in the denomination.

Music Department

Under the direction of Dr. Mark Bailey, the Mt. Olive Ministries choir continues to be one of the leading choirs which is known for its commitment to lead the congregation into the presence of the Lord each Sunday.

LivingH2o Student Ministries

Mt. Olive has a student ministry named Living H2o Student Ministries. Lh2o is the parent ministry of a ministerial drama team named Sharath. Lh2o often hosts outreaches, either stand-alone or partnered with the church. Lh2o is divided into two areas of ministry, 1-Middle school students and 2-High School students. They are involved in many activities and ministries; they meet each Wednesday night at 7pm.

His Word Studios

HWS is a ministry that touches, disciples and raises kids to a new level. This ministry utilizes drama each Sunday to teach kids about Jesus. It has a staff of volunteers who participate on a regular basis. Kevin McHann has moved this ministry to one of the top five within the denomination. This team conducts Kids Fest and other annual events for the Church of God.

Women's Ministry

Pastor Teresa Norman is the pastor of Women's Ministry at Mt. OLive. She leads a team that raises ministry to a new level. She teaches a number of classes and is a guest speaker for a number of other events outside Mt. Olive.

Pastoral Care

Literally the phrase 24/7/365 describes this ministry. Dr. Paul L. Lee guides a team that offers compassion, care and counseling to this ministry. They make a difference in the lives of this church family.

Operation Kindness

Pastor James Sears has a team that believes random acts of kindness is the key tool to evangelism. On a regular basis they are involved in acts of kindness to show the love of Christ.

OK Kids

One of the most remarkable ministries that changes the lives of single parent families. Each year this team gives gifts to kids who are enrolling in school. They give supplies for school, clothes, medical check-ups and many other things to get kids ready for school.

OK Cleveland

Pastor Sears presents a talk show to the City of Cleveland through the television cable network. OK Cleveland has a different guest each week who has made a difference in our city. It is worth your time to invest in this informative 1/2 hour show.

Freedom Celebration

This annual event hosted by Mt. Olive Ministries is a gift back to the community. It is a family event on the Sunday nearest July 4 and offers food, music, rides, entertainment throughout the afternoon. The best fireworks show in the county begins at dark, and has been attended by thousands each year.
