Mount Gevers

Mount Gevers (85°50′S 158°29′W / 85.833°S 158.483°W / -85.833; -158.483) is a rock peak, 1,480 m, in the Hays Mountains of the Queen Maud Mountains, standing at the north side of Cappellari Glacier at the point where it enters Amundsen Glacier. Mapped by United States Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1960-64. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for T.W. Gevers of the University of Witwatersrand (Johannesburg), geologist at McMurdo Station in 1964-65.
