Mount Freeman

Mount Freeman (72°43′S 168°21′E / 72.717°S 168.35°E / -72.717; 168.35) is a prominent mountain (2,880) surmounting the base of Walker Ridge, 2 nautical miles (3.7 km) northwest of Mount Lepanto, in the Victory Mountains, Victoria Land. Mapped by United States Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1960-64. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Lieutenant Elliott R. Freeman, U.S. Navy Reserve, helicopter aircraft commander during Operation Deep Freeze, 1968.
