Moshe Kasher

Moshe Kasher is an award winning American stand up comic writer and actor from Oakland, California. He currently lives and works in Los Angeles and tours nationally and internationally.

Stand up comedy

Moshe began his career in San Francisco in 2001. One of the standouts from the SF comedy stars of the early two thousands ( E.g.: Mo Mandell, Louis Katz, Brent Weinbach, Ryan Stout, Sheng Weng, Jasper Redd, Jacob and Sherry Sirof), Moshe moved to Los Angeles in 2007. In 2009 Moshe was named "Best New Comic of the year" by iTunes.[1]

Festival appearances

Moshe has performed at festivals such as Just For Laughs in Montreal, QC (where he was named one of the best of the new faces), The Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival in Aspen, Colorado (where he won best of fest), Cat Laughs in Killkenny, Ireland, The Canwest Comedy Festival in Vancouver, British Columbia, SF Sketchfest in San Francisco, California, Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, Texas, South By South West in Austin, Texas, Sasquatch Festival in the Gorge, Washington and the Melbourne Comedy Festival in Melbourne, Australia.

Television appearances

Moshe has appeared on Chelsea Lately on the E! Network, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" on NBC, Comedy Central's Live at Gotham, Vh1's The Hot List, and was featured on the 2011 season of John Oliver's New York Stand Up Show on Comedy Central as well as the FOX sitcom Traffic Light [2]

Writing

Moshe began as a playwright, publishing long form monologues in such publications as Heinnman Press' Monologues by Men for Men Vol. 2. He was a blogger for Heeb magazine and is known for the dense literary quality of his stand up bits. In 2010, he sold a book to Grand Central Publishing titled Kasher in the Rye, a comedic memoir of his chidhood.

Discography

Moshe has one album entitled Everyone You Know is Going to Die And Then You Are. It was named one of the top twenty comedy albums of 2009 by iTunes.
