Alur Chakrapani was born in Itanagar village near Tenali, Guntur District of the state of
Andhra Pradesh ,India . He was from anagricultural family and had unmatched creativity. He studied inTenali and had to go toVellore ,Tamil Nadu for medical treatment. He stayed there for a few months and learnt Bengali during that time. Initially, he started translating novels from Bengali to Telugu. With his creative mind, he started writing short stories and novels. At this time, he was approached byNagi Reddy to be a partner and make movies under Vijaya-Vauhini banner. Together, they made successful movies likePatala Bhairavi ,Maya Bazar ,Gundamma Katha ,Missamma ,Shavukaru , andAppu Chesi Pappu Kudu that are still popular with Telugu speaking people. They came up with the idea of a story book for kids and the result is Chandamama. Chakrapani made Chandamama popular not only inTelugu language but in ten otherIndia n languages. He started the monthly publication ofYuva magazine in Hyderabad especially for Telugu loving folks.ources
