Moodster

Moodster

Moodster is an online social networking and microblogging service that enables its users to send and read text-based posts, informally known as "Moods."

Moodster was created in April 2010 and since then is privately owned by Moodster.Inc. It is to be said that Moodster developers were inspired by Twitter. Sharing similar purposes, Moodster allows users to share "Moods" with everybody who browse their account.

With the aim of mostly stealing the attention of celebrities addressing their fans from time to time, Moodster developers spend most of their time adding more celebrity-based features in their Moodster Extra pages for celebrities' use e.g. Calender for reminders.

Orgins

Moodster's origins started with inspiration from Facebook. However being less experienced in security social networking, Moodster developers decided a little easier task. Being specialists in user-friendly systems, the developers set off to develop Komments, the predecessor Moodster.

Development

Moodster was developed in a garage. It was based on HTML and XHTML coding. However due to the lack of experienced co-workers, it was then taken to a basic starter step by publishing it through website hosters.

During the 4 months of developments, many other side projects were also built such as Piculiar, a photo sharing service similar to Flickr. However these projects were soon finished or ignored and so Moodster was continued.

Domain Name Issues

Moodster is sigined under the ".tk" free domain name service. The reason for this, is that soon after the deveopments of Moodster, the crew did not have any more money to afford a full time yearly based domain name. So until the company gets a higher financial condition, it is to be said that Moodster will remain under ".tk" domain names.

During the development years, when Moodster under the name and system of Komments, the crew decided to sign it to temporary sub-domain so until the network wasn't complete, the users wouldn't be able to browse the website because it was very unlikely for user to lookup subdomains.
