In 1978, Montfort School Kansbahal (P.O Kansbahal, Sundergarh Dt, Orissa 770 034) was established by Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel on behalf of Utmal Ltd. (Now, L&T Kansbahal).

It prided in having regular classes up to the 10+2 level in 3 separate languages - English, Hindi and Oriya - a feature not found anywhere else in the region.

The school is located in South Colony and has its own football ground. Major sports events are often held here.

In 2008, Montfort School Kansbahal was renamed D.A.V. Public School Kansbahal.
