Monroe H. Freedman

Monroe H. Freedman is a law professor at Hofstra University and former dean of Hofstra Law School.^[1] He has been described as "a pioneer in the field of legal ethics"^[2] and "one of the nation’s leading experts on legal ethics."^[3] He has received the American Bar Association's highest honor for professionalism in recognition of "a lifetime of original and influential contributions to the field of Lawyers' Ethics. He was the first executive director of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Council.^[1] Freedman has also received popular media attention as a critic of "To Kill a Mockingbird" protagonist Atticus Finch.^[4][5]

Freedman received his B.A. from Harvard College, graduating cum laude in 1951. He earned his LL.B. from Harvard Law School in 1954, and his LL.M. from Harvard Law School in 1956. He is listed in Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in America, and Who's Who in the World.
