The song was chosen internally by broadcaster TMC. Torr had previously sung in the 1966 contest, placing 10th on behalf of Luxembourg.
At Eurovision
On the night of the final Torr performed second in the running order, following Ireland and preceding the Netherlands. At the close of voting "Une petite française" had picked up 96 points (including maximum 12s from Greece and Italy), placing Monaco fourth of the 18 entries. The song received votes from every other national jury with the exception of the Netherlands. The Monegasque jury awarded its 12 points to the United Kingdom.[1]
