He and the older brother of Hossein Seifzadeh, Iranian Political Scientist. In October 2010, Seifzadeh was sentenced to 9 years of prison and 10 years of ban from the practice of law.[1] He has called the ruling the result of "an unlawful court proceeding.[2]
It was announced on April 18, 2011, that Mohammad Seifzadeh has been missing for almost two weeks and that his whereabouts are unclear.[3] On April 23, 2011, reports were made regarding his possible arrest and imprisonment in Urmia, in Iran's northwestern province of West Azerbaijan by operatives of Ministry of Intelligence.[4][5] Since then, various organizations such as the International Federation for Human Rights(IFHR) and Reporters Without Borders (RWB) have called for his release.[6][7]
