He plays as an right back for Egyptian Premier League club Ittihad El-Shorta. He has been dubbed as one of the most promising wing backs for his technical skill, speed and ability to play either side.
Career
Mohab started playing football at the age of 12 with Shooting Club Cairo, from which he joined the U13 national team and attracted the attention of Cairo giants Ahly and Zamalek. In 2003, he started developing in Zamalek youth academy till heading to Germany at the age 18. Mohab joined the youth academy of FC Carl Zeiss Jena which plays on the highest youth level in Germany.
Mohab had a chance to gain 1st-team experience by joining VfB Lübeck. However he had to spend sometime to gain a professional player pass, he attracted attention of other German Regionalliga while being watched during training and friendly games.
Bad Luck
Mohab Mourad suffered bad luck when the DFB delayed his player pass, which resulted in his club being unable to enroll him in the squad before the closure of transfer window, so Mohab had to get a club as soon as possible. He received offers from the Slovak Superliga and Austrian team LASK Linz, and also got offers from different Egyptian Premier League sides, before deciding to join Ittihad El-Shorta on a short-term contract to hopefully resume his European career on the next possible opportunity.
International career
Mohab was member of Egypt U-20 which featured 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Egypt. He was called up by manager Hany Ramzy during his spell at VfB Lübeck to make his debut with the team in Volksbank tournament, which the Egyptian side won.
