Mithanthaya is a community of Shivalli Madhva Brahmins of Udupi. Resides mainly in Undaru near Pajaka which is the birthplace of Acharya madhwa. The community belongs to Bhargava gotra a follower of Sri Sode Vadiraja Matt.(by. Dr SEETHARAMA MITHANTHAYA)
