The team plays their games at the David C. Johnson Arena located in Isanti, Minnesota.[1] The team broke their franchise home attendance record in 08-09 with close to 1,400 people attending the home opener.[2]
The Minnesota Owls were founded in 1993. They are a non-profit corporation and are sanctioned by USA Hockey.
The Owls won the MnJHL Play-Offs in 1994 and 1998, placed second in 1995, 1996, 2000, 2001, 2007 and 2008 and placed third in 1997. The Owls went on to represent the MnJHL at the USA Hockey Tier III Junior A Ice Hockey National Tournament.
In addition to On-ice comittment, each player is required to participate in community service while with the team. Past activities include: Jaycees Easter Egg Hunt, collecting Toys-for-Tots, refereeing youth floor hockey, collecting food for Food Shelves, hosting a golf tournament, helping with youth hockey practices and participating in the 4th of July parade.[3]
