Mikill Pane Birth name Justin Smith Uzomba Genres Hip-Hop Associated acts Ed Sheeran Justin Smith Uzomba, better known by his stage name Mikill Pane, is a UK Hip-Hop MC. He is perhaps best known for his track with Ed Sheeran, "Little Lady", from the No. 5 Collaborations Project.
The name "Mikill Pane" is derived from Justin's tendency to get "ill on the mic" ("ill" being an urban slang for showing talent/proficiency), and the fact that he constantly has to wear prescriptive lenses, and so always views the world through "window panes"[1] .
Mikill appeared as a Special Guest throughout Ed Sheeran's academy tour in 2011. He also supported Mac Miller on his UK Blue Slide Park tour in October 2011.
On 24th October 2011 Mikill released "The Guinness & Blackcurrant EP", produced by twice-Mercury Award-nominated Seb Rochford. The EP has received support on Radio 1Xtra from DJ Semtex, DJ Target, support on BBC Radio 1 through Huw Stephens (including a live Maida Vale Studios session), Fearne Cotton, BBC 6 Music, various national BBC Introducing radio stations, XFM and Rinse fm. The EP peaked at #4 and #71 in the UK iTunes Hip-Hop Chart and UK iTunes Album chart respectively.
On 27th October 2011 Mikill was the featured artist on the programme "Random Acts" on Channel 4.
He is working on his debut album "Blame Miss Barclay", due in 2012.
