Tim Brando (b.
February 27 ,1956 , inShreveport, Louisiana ) is aradio andCBS Sports and Fox Sports Net studio host andplay-by-play announcer.From 1983-86, Brando served as a sports reporter at
WAFB-TV Baton Rouge and was the voice of LSU basketball telecasts on Tigervision. From 1986-94, he served as a studio host for "SportsCenter ", forESPN 's college football halftime show, and for the network's coverage of the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship. In 1994, he provided play-by-play for TNT's coverage of theNBA Playoffs .In 1995, Brando joined
CBS Sports as a play-by-play announcer for theNCAA Men's Basketball Championship and has served as the host of "College Football Today", which is the broadcast network home of SEC football. He also provides play-by-play for "The NFL on CBS ". In addition to his CBS duties, Brando also calls game for Jefferson Pilot's coverage of the SEC andAtlantic Coast Conference basketball telecasts. He also hosts "The Tim Brando Show" which airs weekday afternoons from 4pm-7pm (Eastern) onSporting News Radio .During the 2002 college football season, in the
Sporting News , Tim Brando called Ohio State a bad 12-0 team and said "When they lose to Michigan they'll be a bad 12-1 team."Instead, OSU beat Michigan 14-9. Despite that, Brando then picked Miami to easily defeat the Buckeyes 48-10 in the Fiesta Bowl. Northeast Louisiana University (now theUniversity of Louisiana-Monroe ). He graduated from Fair Park High School in Shreveport, Louisiana in 1974. Even then Tim was known as someone who could "talk the ears off a mule." Brando lives in Shreveport with his wife, Terri. They have two daughters; Tiffany (25) and Tara (17).
