Middle College High School at LaGuardia Community College

Middle College High School at LaGuardia Community College (MCHS) is a charter high school located on the campus of LaGuardia Community College in the Long Island City neighborhood in Queens, New York City, New York, United States. MCHS houses approximately 500 students in 45-35 Van Dam Street, the L building of LaGuardia College's campus.[1] It is within the New York City Department of Education.

Middle College is known for allowing students to take both high school and college level courses at LaGuardia which, in turn, earns them credit for both institutions. This program, called the Excel Program locally, lets students attain an Associates Degree upon their graduation of high school.

Classes run on 70-minute schedules, with five classes per day. Half-days are granted every Wednesday where classes run on 35-minutes. Students are given more autonomy than average high school students, where they are on an open campus. In addition, students and teachers are on first-name basis, creating for a casual learning environment.
