Michael Kiwanuka is a British soul musician who has been compared to Bill Withers and Otis Redding,[1] as well as Van Morrison and the Temptations.[2] He is signed to Communion Records[3]

Early life
Kiwanuka grew up in London; his parents are from Uganda.[4]
Career
His debut EP Tell Me A Tale was released on 13 June 2011.[5]
Kiwanuka has supported Adele on Adele Live 2011 tour as well at her iTunes Festival gig 2011,[6] and will play at the 2011 Hard Rock Calling.[7]
Music
His music has been described "Like a lazy autumn Sunday afternoon Kiwanuka’s music is full of laid back, effortless beauty and deserves to be cherished."[8] It is a blend of Soul, Jazz and acoustic guitar with vintage-sounding, heartfelt and resonating vocals. Kiwanuka has stated influences from musicians such as Bill Withers, Otis Redding, Pops Staples, The Band, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Eric Bibb, Tommy Sims, Richie Havens[9] and has even played with drummer James Gadson who drummed for Bill Withers.[10]
