Michael A. Ventrella founded Animato! in the mid 80s. He sold it in the early 90s. Under the pseudonym "Thelma Scumm" he wrote the gossip column and later continued that for fps magazine. He has been quoted in Entertainment Weekly magazine and the Philadelphia Inquirer as an animation expert.
Ventrella is one of the founders of the New England Roleplaying Organization a Live action role-playing game. In 1997, he broke away and began running The NERO Alliance, now known as simply The Alliance.
His first fantasy novel ARCH ENEMIES was published in 2008. The sequel THE AXES OF EVIL was released in 2010. 2011 brought TALES OF FORTANNIS: A BARD'S EYE VIEW , A collection of short stories taking place in the world of his novels, featuring a number of other writers as well.
Ventrella is a criminal defense attorney who has argued before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
