Miccosukee Volunteer Fire-Rescue

Miccosukee Volunteer Fire-Rescue is a not-for-profit volunteer fire department providing fire and rescue response to the residents and property owners of Northeastern Leon County, Florida. The department responds from three stations. It's equipment includes pumpers, tankers, brush trucks, a rescue boat and a 4WD utility vehicle.

Services are provided under a Volunteer Fire Services Agreement[1] between the department and the Leon County (Florida) County Commission.

History

The department was founded in 1998 with the merger of two earlier departments, the Miccosukee Land Co-op Volunteer Fire Department and the Miccosukee Volunteer Fire Department.

Stations

The department has three stations; one on Cromartie Rd. in the unincorporated community of Miccosukee Florida, one at the Miccosukee Land Co-op and one on Heatherwood Drive.
