Chatton and Perard, 1913Metabacterium polyspora is an unusual multiple endospore-producing bacterium isolated from the cecum of guinea pigs[1]. This bacterium is physically similar to the phylogenetically related surgeonfish intestinal symbiont Epulopiscium fishelsoni[2].
