Medhi Hadji Moniri was the last Civil Aviation administrator and Deputy Minister of War under His Imperial Majesty the Shah of Iran government. A commissioned Air force officer (1940s to 1970) and one of the earliest fighter pilots of the Imperial Iranian Air forces. He was forced down by the former Soviet Union air force in 1963 during a mission and was held for 3 weeks. He was assigned as the personal pilot to his majesty and the crown prince in the 1960s and early 1970s. He later managed the largest civil aviation organization in the Middle East. He died on September 23, 2010 in Vancouver, Canada of Alzheimer related illness.[1]
