Medaurus

Medaurus

Medaurus or Medauros was a protective deity worhiped by Illyrians in the town of Rhizon at the Gulf of Kotor[1]. He was mentioned in a dedication at Lambaesis in Africa by a Roman senator and native of Risinium. He appears to be identical to the Thracian horseman, riding on horseback and carrying a lance.
