McKinley Nunatak

McKinley Nunatak (85°18′S 170°3′W / 85.3°S 170.05°W / -85.3; -170.05) is the southernmost of three large nunataks in upper Liv Glacier, about 5 nautical miles (9 km) north-northeast of Barnum Peak. Named by the Southern Party of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition (NZGSAE) (1961–62) for Captain Ashley C. McKinley, photographer with R. Admiral Richard E. Byrd on his South Pole flight of 1929.
