Erris Barony covers the most part of the North Mayo coast. It is a wild and rugged blanket bog and magnificent coastal landscape with a beauty all its own.
Tir Saile
Tir Saile is the North Mayo Sculpture Trail. It is the largest public arts project ever undertaken in Ireland. There are fourteen large sculptures along the North Mayo and Broadhaven Bay coastlines.
The sculptures were put in place in the parishes of Kilmore, Belderg and Kilcommon Erris during 1993, the year of the Mayo 5000, celebrating 5,000 years of human habitation in the area. The North Mayo backdrop was the perfect backdrop for the sculptures which have added, rather than detracted from the rugged landscape.
